BRIC Builders
Our mission
Bagged Regolith Incorporated Construction Builders (BRIC Builders) is a consortium interested in pursuing ISRU-based technologies for the Lunar Surface. Research and technology developments are focused on filling regolith bags as a modular construction unit for the larger Artemis base and beyond.
We have a diverse range of expertise including robotics, regolith properties, geotechnical engineering and mission design with consortium members from Off Planet Research, The University of Arizona, and Michigan Technological University. In addition to being an in-situ construction unit, regolith-filled bags can also provide radiation & thermal shielding, base illumination, and environmental monitoring if smartbags are utilized.
Lunar regolith creates many challenges for technology design and survivability. Let’s make regolith work for us, not against us by optimizing this challenge!
Consortium Members
Off Planet Research is leading the consortium. OPR is designing and building the reduced vacuum enclosure with external interfaces.
The University of Arizona is designing and building the bag form and test system.
Michigan Technological University is designing and building the regolith conveyance system.
